Heart treatment - Rules for your regular medication before surgery
You should follow the patient information you received in connection with your invitation for examination/treatment.
However, the following applies to diabetes medication:

Take as usual |
Ex. Semglee, Toujeo, Lantus, Tresiba, Absaglar, Levemir, Xultophy Insulatard, Humulin NPH |

Short-acting insulin |
Omit during the fasting period |
Ex. Actrapid, Humulin Regular, Apidra, Fiasp, Novorapid, Insulin Aspart |

Other diabetes medication including combination insulin |
Omit on the morning of planned surgery |
Combination insulin: Ex. Ryzodeg, Humalog Mix, Mixtard, NovoMix |
Note: If you are having coronary artery examinations and are using Metformin, you should pause Metformin 2 days before the treatment.
