Short waiting times

We always have short waiting times. We are the only private hospital approved by the Danish Health Authority to perform ablation treatment when the waiting time in the public system exceeds 30 days.

What our patients say

"I am extremely satisfied with my treatment. I had an ablation, and nothing was left to chance. I was seen almost immediately and was able to go home the very same day. I was quite nervous on beforehand, but a nurse managed to put me at ease and made me feel safe. With humor and a twinkle in her eye, I was handed over to an equally competent doctor. He walked me through the treatment, and I felt completely at ease with the ablation."

Leading in Scandinavia

We are the leading provider of cardiac arrhythmia treatment using ablation in Scandinavia and are internationally recognized for our expertise. Each year, we treat approximately 1,500 patients from Denmark, Sweden and Norway for atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias.

You will be treated exclusively by specially trained doctors and nurses who will provide you with the highest standard of professional care. Our skilled nurses and secretaries will support you before, during and after your treatment.

Promising new technology: PFA

We are the hospital in Scandinavia that carries out the largest number of ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation. We are also the hospital in Northern Europe that has carried out the most ablation procedures using Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) technology.

Waiting times in our neighboring countries are long, and thanks to our extensive experience and high standards, we treat many patients from Norway and Sweden every year.

Our cardiologists have many years of experience, and we can examine and treat you within a short time.

New technology can assist complex heart surgeries

Once you’ve had operation with us, we don’t just leave you to it – we offer everyone who has undergone ablation for atrial fibrillation (or atrial flutter) one year’s free use of a smart app that can detect whether you have atrial fibrillation.

The app is based on 10 years of research and development and uses a sensitive motion sensor found in all newer mobile phones.

The app is designed to help increase your peace of mind after an ablation.

AF-CARE: New guidelines for the treatment of atrial fibrillation

Preventing atrial fibrillation, avoiding blood clots, receiving the best treatment and follow-up care are the four key topics when discussing atrial fibrillation. This is the background to 'AF-CARE', which Jacob and I discuss in this webinar.

Rhythm Doctor Webinar: Atrial appendage closure as an alternative

Every year, 3,000 people in Denmark have a stroke due to a blood clot in the brain caused by atrial fibrillation. While many of these cases can be prevented with blood-thinning medication, this is not the best solution for everyone. In this webinar, cardiologists Jacob Pontoppidan and Peter Steen Hansen discuss alternatives to blood-thinning medication.

No, you do not need to have a CT scan of your heart prior to your ablation. We do not consider it necessary to expose you to unnecessary X-ray radiation.

You don’t need to. We always carry out a scan to be sure there is no clotted blood in the atria or the atrial appendage. However, you will need to take blood-thinner for three months after the ablation.

No, you must continue to take your medication before, during and after the ablation. If there are any changes, you will be notified.

For practical terms, yes. This means that you will breathe on your own, but you will not feel any pain or be aware of what is happening. Afterwards, you will not be able to remember what happened during the ablation.

No, unfortunately not.

We have a lounge at Privathospitalet Mølholm, which your companion is welcome to use. Free internet access is available.
