Treatment of varicose veins and diagnosing suspected arteriosclerosis of the legs
Vascular surgery includes the prevention, examination, treatment and control of patients with blood vessel disorders outside the brain and the heart. These mainly include the treatment of constrictions, obstructions, and aneurisms in vessels due to arteriosclerosis, the treatment of varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis, as well as late complications following these diseases. In addition, there are a number of rare disorders of the blood and the lymphatic vessels.
We offer treatment and diagnosis of vascular diseases such as:
Venous diseases
Examinations and treatments are performed according to the best and most modern methods, including foam treatment and sclerotherapy of small veins.
Arterial diseases
In case of pains in the legs during walking or wounds which will not heal, measurements of the ankle blood pressure are made and the best medical treatment is assessed.
Diagnosis
Any investigation starts with a vascular preliminary examination with the specialist medical practitioner. If needed/if there is indication that further examination is required before possible vascular surgery - usually in the form of ultrasound or MRI scanning (MRI angiography), this is then planned.
The vascular surgery is carried out at Private Hospital Molholm.
Venous surgery is usually carried out on an outpatient basis. Both general or local anaesthetic are available.
